MARX WITCH is an ongoing design project devoted to a left-wing agit-prop spiritualism. The first of these design objects is an anarcha-marxist tarot deck called “THE NEW LEFT TAROT”. A celebration of anti-capitalism as model for personal and collective transformation. Marrying a selection of intellectual and historical traditions associated with the “Left” to those of the occult, and the interior logic of the tarot, this deck and booklet situate liberation as our guide. The first edition features 79 cards with insights from: LucyParsons, Karl Marx, Angela Davis, Vladimir Lenin, Franz Fanon, Grace Lee Boggs, and lessons from the Spanish Civil War, Rojave, Standing Rock, May 68, Earthships, Red Army Faction, the Young Lords, among many others. The New Left Tarot aims to implicate personal healing within broader landscape of politics and pre-figuration of other worlds.
