SUP BLOGOSPHERE.  So, I guess I’m going to be the first person to ever run an annual blog.  Take that bloggers.  Okay, so lets pour some knowledge down for the people back home.

First things first!  When I first heard there was going to be a Watchmen movie, I was kinda upset.  I mean hell, i’m all for the graphic novel getting more attention.  It is, after all one of the most awesome comics ever.  If you haven’t read it, do so!  It has a naked blue man! It has a dog getting beat up by a man in a hat!  It has cthulu-esque hellspawns!  However, I don’t think it can work as a movie.  Too much plot, tons of.. just.. stuff! Like the whole story-within-the-story.  Yanno how they’re handling the Tales of the Black Freighter story, right?

Heh.  he calls himself a visionary director.  But yeah, the trailer doesn’t exactly make my movie-balls throb.  It fills me with nervous.  This has the potential to be a real horrible mess of one of the greatest books ever.  Like.. i’m sure some people on the Internet felt this kinda worry when they found out that Peter “Bad Taste” Jackson was making Lord of the Rings.  That didn’t turn out to bad though, right?

So maybe, just maybe, this won’t be an over-stylized heap-o-trash where more focus is put on making sure the characters look all sharp-contrast-coloured and wallpaper-savingly-great, than having people actually know what the hell is going on.

Interesting note, he used the song from Batman and Robin for his trailer, just all slowed down and more indy-ish..  Huh.  Billy Corgan must be saving up for head-shaving cream again.  Rox hates Billy Corgan.  I can relate, i’ll admit, I was one of those kids with the floppy hair and a tshirt with ZERO written across it in big letters but even now, his voice really can get on your tits occasionally.  Like a bee trapped in a pint glass.

Okay, so, lets talk music.  Recently I have been listening to a lot of Atari Teenage Riot, because i’m really out of the loop when it comes to digital hardcore. (pfft).  After listening to a lot of ATR stuff, i’ve found quite a nice little niche of music.  Kinda.. drum and bassy punky and hip-hoppery.  Its a weird combo, that works.  Pity that the rapper-type from ATR had to go and die.  HERE BELOW IS A SONG BY THEM.  SPLENDID!

Alex Empire, lead singer, is a bit of a tosser though.  He has one of those “Lookatmei’mawesome” attitudes.  So, while I like ATR’s stuff, I have NO TIME FOR THIS SHIT;

His later stuff is kinda lame.  Shoulda stuck with ATR really.

So, its been almost a whole year since I last updated this thing.  For the few people who even actually read it, they may well have assumed that i’m dead.  I’m really not, I promise.

So, whats been happening in the world of me?.. well, to be perfectly honest, absolutely nothing.  I work the same job, do the same things, do less of certain things and overall live the life that i’ve settled myself into.

I still use the LiveWriter beta thing to post these, I wonder if they ever made a stable full version.. hmm.

Oh well! I’m currently toying with the idea of re-optimizing the site and changing a few bits and bobs around, definately going to change the title image and sort out all that crap.  I am pretty miserable with how it looks right now, so I might configure a joombla installation or some crapola to make things look a bit more.. web2.0.  I HATE THAT TERM.  Seriously.  Web2.0 is about giving the people access to easy to use forms of online communication that doesn’t require a degree in computer sciences to do it.  Its about global community and sharing and love and posting your Top Ten Things to do when completely stoned out of your face at a Foo Fighters concert on Digg.

For the record, what happened to digg?.. it used to be the best thing since sliced bread, now its ultimately awful, full of idiots whining about the same old thing and HD-DVD encryption keys.

Home taping is killing music.

Ah well, this could possibly be just another flash in the pan blog post because I was feeling pseudo inspired and felt like writing.  Next time, my post will be filled with spoilers about Bioshock, since i just completed it.  So stay tuned kids!

So it dawned on me, in a moment of horror, that I spent the best part of 3 days trying to get this wordpress blog to function just right and to my tastes.  And, oddly, I never even use the damn thing.

Current album of choice this month is an oldie but a gold.. um.. E.  Dj Shadow’s Private Press.  If I could take one album to a desert island with me, i’d take a compilation CD with a few of these tracks on. (hah)

So here we go, another unstructured waste of blogspace.  On the life front, things are going good.  I’ve been working my ass off for the glory of NHS Orkney.  A job which, like most jobs, loses its pizazz after the first few months, but at least the feel-good factor is present.  I actually feel like i’m helping people. (This is excludes the fucking tourists who seem to always forget their life-preserving medication when they go on holiday.  Okay, if you were about to go on a week-long trip and you had these pills that, I don’t know, stopped you from dying, would you honestly forget them?  Fuck no, they’d be the first and last thing I made sure I had with me.  But, alas.)

Next point, i’ve actually drawn something and put it on the internet again, my harshest critic being myself, I already hate it.  But, what the christ?.. it can be found in the Gallery.  That said, does anyone know how to convert RSS into a format that can be displayed on say.. the front page of the website?
